Prismo Group — Quality Reflects

Turkish Manufacturing Underway

We are happy to announce that production has now begun at our new joint venture manufacturing plant in Istanbul, Turkey. The plant manufactures thermoplastic road markings and will reduce lead times for deliveries to Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Ennis Prismo’s partner in the joint venture is the Turkish based traffic products manufacturer Ulukar, and we are very happy to be working with them. Ennis Prismo’s Technical Director Steve Owens visited the plant recently to assist with its commissioning. I'm told Steve very much enjoyed his trip and is looking forward to his next visit!

Ennis Prismo Open Days a Roaring Success

July 2010 saw our first company open days this year and the first ever under our new branding. The days were held on 13th and 14th  July at our Bath site and Chorley manufacturing plant respectively.
Both days were very well attended and visitors included a large array of local authority representatives and contractors, plus many new and existing customers from the UK and abroad.

The events included live demonstrations of a range of Ennis Prismo products and services including:
Line Lazer paint application system
Hand Applied MMA marking
Imprint - alternative to cobble & block paving surfacing
Fibrescreed crack repair system
Stimsonite milled road studs
Stonegrip – decorative surfacing
Ecodyn Technical Retro-reflective Survey of MMA marking
Coloursafe – anti-slip, low traffic surface paint
Flexiline – preformed thermoplastic
Colourbright safety road surface system
Pothole Repair

In Chorley we also took all visitors on a tour of our manufacturing facility – the most advanced of it’s type in the world.
Everyone was well fed by our BBQ team and some lucky visitors were fortunate enough to win in the prize draw.

Feedback from both events has been excellent and I would like to thank everyone who attended as well as all those who helped organise the event.

Following this success, we are planning to host further such days later in 2010.
If you would like any information on the open days held in July or any of the products featured, please email Ennis Prismo’s Marketing Manager - Jonathan Fish.
Likewise if you would like to be informed of future events, please send us an email or give us a call.

High Friction Surfacing in Southern Ireland

February 21, 2010 - posted in Antiskid, Awards, International News, Contracting Services, Road Safety, Safety Solutions

The most recent trial approved by the The National Roads Authority of Ireland (NRA) was on a very busy main road near Dublin which had seen 21 fatalities over the last 3 years. A significant contributing factor was a steep downhill section of Asphalt road approaching a junction where, particularly in wet conditions and heavy traffic, vehicles were unable to stop quickly enough.

Tyregrip was specified and, to allow for the incline and prevent loss of Epoxy on such a steep slope, cellulose fibres were also recommended and added to the Epoxy mix.
This worked well and in very difficult traffic management conditions the 2000m2 downhill to the junction was completed over a two-day period in September and the NRA has already suggested that if it proves a success Tyregrip will be specified for the entire region.
